8. ⁷ Baldwin V (Earl of Flanders) (Barbatus⁶ Baldwin IV (Count of Flanders), ⁵ Arnulph II (Count of Flanders), ⁴ Baldwin III (Count of Flanders), ³ Arnuph I (Count of Flanders), ² Baldwin II (Count of Flanders), (Count of Flanders)¹ Baldwin I) was born 1000. He died 1067 in Lille, Nord, France.

He married Adela Capet in Paris, France, 1028/30. Adela was born 1007. She was the daughter of King Robet II (The Pious) of France and Constance unknown. Adela died 1079.

Baldwin V (Earl of Flanders) and Adela Capet had the following children:

9 i. ⁸ Baldwin VI (Count of Flanders) was born before 1070, the first event for which there is a recorded date. He died 1070. He married Margaret of Alsace.

10 ii. Maud or Matilda unknown was born in Flanders, France 1031/32. Maud died 11/2/1083 in Caen, Normandy, France. She married King William (The Conqueror) in Normandy, France, 1050/53. He was born in Falaise, Normandy, France 10/14/1024/25. He was the son of Robert II (The Devil) and Harlette or Herleva unknown. He died 9/9/1087 in Rouen, Normandy, France, at 62 years of age. His body was interred in Caen, Normandy, France, St. Stephen's Abby. (See King William (The Conqueror) for the continuation of this line.)
