17. Joseph⁵ Allen (James⁴, Samuel³, George², John¹) was born in Tisbury, MA 1685. Joseph died 3/10/1726/7 in Tisbury, MA.

He married Patience Bourne. Patience was born in Sandwich, MA 4/20/1686. She was the daughter of Shearjasub Bourne and Bathsheba Skiff. Patience died 2/13/1765 in W. Tisbury, MA, at 78 years of age.

Joseph Allen and Patience Bourne had the following children:

25 i. Ruth⁶ Allen was born 6/16/1711. Ruth died 1/23/1804 in Rochester, MA, at 92 years of age. She married Samuel Gray 9/3/1731.

26 ii. Susanna Allen was born 4/28/1716. She married Seth Look 9/5/1733.

27 iii. Bathsheba Allen was born in Sandwich, MA 1/31/1719. Bathsheba died 3/7/1747 in Tisbury, MA, at 28 years of age. She married Stephen Look. Stephen was born in Tisbury, MA 3/6/1717. He was the son of Samuel Look and Thankful Lewis. Stephen died 2/2/1762 in Tisbury, MA, at 44 years of age.

28 iv. Joseph Allen Jr. was born 7/17/1723. Joseph died 1/5/1798 at 74 years of age. He married Patience Nye 1746.

29 v. Shearjashub Allen was born 6/2/1725. Shearjashub died DY.

+ 30 vi. Benajmin Allen (Capt.) was born 8/28/1727.
