This is the black sheep of the family.  John Kieser was born in Manheim, Germany in 1864.  He tried to stowaway on a ship to America when he was 14, but was caught.  He was taken back to Germany, but stowed away on the first ship he could sneak on.  He was a cruel man who abused his wife and family.  He won a farm (in Missouri) in a poker game.  He kept his wife and family on the farm, while he lived and worked in St. Louis.  He visited every now and then, but they were not joyfull visits.  He disappeared in 1901.  No one has heard from him or about him since.
