 COREOPSIS,  var. "Domino"

If you want to add a cheerful note to your perennial border, then look no further than coreopsis.  This particular variety being my favorite, "Domino" sports fringed bright yellow petals with a bit of maroon in the center.  There are other varieties of coreopsis, each with its own traits, such as "Moonbeam,"  a small-flowered variety; dainty looking, but tough as nails.  Deadheading the Moonbeam variety would be a chore, since the tiny flowers are abundant, and is usually left to reseed itself, which it will readily do.   "Sunray" coreopsis is like Domino, but a solid yellow-orange color.   Coreopsis tolerates dry soil well, and flowers best in full sun.
