This interview took place on the Vancouver radio station called CKNW during the November 5th hockey game between the Florida Panthers and the Vancouver Canucks. Tom Larcheind (commentator): Well you're maturing as a hockey player and you're very close to taking that big step in your life. And that is, to have a bride.

Bret Hedican: That's correct.

Tom: Kristi Yamaguchi. Olympic gold winner. Figure skater. Wonderful gal. She's your fiancee. That's a great story, it really is, Bret.

Bret: I appreciate that Tom.

Tom: She's a wonderful gal. I had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of times, thanks to you.

Bret: Yes.

Tom: And I watched her many, many times on television.

Bret: Yeah.

Tom: So, this is going to be very exciting. So, when's the big date?

Bret: July. You know, we're just happy to be doing it there in July.

Tom: And where's the wedding going to be? In the Bay Area?

Bret (in a laughing tone): I'm going to be telling you those things?

Tom: Come on!

Bret: Those are private things!

Tom: Okay!

Bret: No, we're going to be doing it in Hawaii, I think.

Tom: Oh, great!

Bret: Her family goes over there quite a bit and we got alot of good relationships over there. So, that's where we're going to do it.

Tom: Terrific. Well, that's wonderful. You know, it's nice to see guys like yourself. You know, I remember you coming here as a young player and then watch you mature, and finally take a wife, and down the road, some children and everything else. Just great, Bret! I wish you all the best in your career and future years, and with your life too. You've been a real class guy.
