Kristi on Game Day

Game Day is a local half hour post-Sunday night news sports show that shows highlights of the weekend's sports and has in-studio guests as well. It's hosted by KPIX 5's weekend sportscaster, Rick Quan. KPIX is CBS's San Francisco station.

Kristi's interview was the last segment of the show and lasted four minutes.

Kristi's Interview Summary:

-Station shows clip of Kristi's Olympic LP.

-To Rick Quan and Kristi in the studio. Kristi discusses A Golden Moment. Raising money and awareness of Breast Cancer, some of the skaters who will be skating, etc.

-Station shows clips of TL's Olympic practice and LP. Then they show some of Kristi's Olympic LP again.

-Rick Quan asks Kristi how Peggy Fleming is doing. Kristi says all right and says she's helping out with the event.

-Station shows Peggy practicing skating at what appears to be an outdoor rink. Probably file footage, but it looked to be within at least the last five years.

-Rick Quan mentions that Kristi is still skating with Stars on Ice then quickly moves to her personal life. He says that her engagement and upcoming marriage to Bret Hedican (sp?) is going "to break a lot of hearts..." Kristi laughs. Rick mentions that Bret now plays for the Florida Panthers as they show a clip of Bret playing and falling on the ice. Kristi moans and laughs. She says she met Brad at the '92 Olympics, but didn't really remember meeting him there, although Bret remembered meeting her. They "crossed paths" again in Fall '95. Two weeks later, she met him again when she attended a San Jose Sharks game, whom his team was playing against. Then, they started dating.

-Station shows a quick clip of Kristi, Brad, and her *big* engagement ring. Rick Quan says, "Whoh, look at that ring! At least two carats!" Kristi laughs.

-Rick says she's getting married next summer. Kristi says July.

-Kristi reminds viewers that tickets for Golden Moment are available at BASS ticket outlets (the Bay Area's equivalent to Tickettron)
