Hi, thought you all might like to know that Kristi Yamaguchi showed up at the US Open tonight. She was sitting in the presidential seats. Here's a summary of what I can remember.

The interviewer (can't think of his name right now) seemed rather awed. He asked her what she was up to, and she stated that she was still with SOI. He asked her if she enjoyed being a pro now that all of "the pressure was off, and asked her what she thought about the sweeping changes in the sport.

She said that pro skating was just a different kind of pressure, but there was freedom in being able to explore more artistic aspects of her skating, and that there were new stars emerging every Olympics, specifically Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski. She said that she thought the new pro/am circuit was a great opportunity for the eligibles. He asked her if she thought they(Michelle and Tara) might join her on the professional circuit, and she mentioned that Tara was already a professional.

His last question was what was the best thing about winning a gold medal, and she stated, "Attending the US Open."
