SANRICK BOUVIERS

ABOUT SANRICK KENNEL AND THE LAKE FAMILY

Sanrick was started in 1967 with a Pomeranian named "Happy". After showing and breeding Pomeranians under the Sanrick (Richard & Sandra combined) registered kennel name, it was decided to purchase a larger breed. After searching a Bouvier was thought to be the ideal dog (and still is). Bolshoy's Trisha of Sanrick was purchased from Paul & Pauline DeRycke of Bolshoy kennel. She quickly finished her Canadian and American championship at a young age and also completed her Companion Dog title. From there a male was bought with co-owner Claire McLean of Deewal kennel,  American and Canadian Champion Jenbedon's Tuff Tully. Although "Trisha" ended up not passing her hip testing, she lead a happy, healthy life with us. Other bitches were then bought including Can Ch. Bolshoy's Wanda of SanrickCan Ch. Zebany de Bolshoy, and Am & Can Ch. Brandy of Iids Way  all of which we put their championship titles on. Each litter was designated with a letter of the alphabet starting with the "A" litter out of Am & Can Ch. Jenbedon's Tuff Tully x Can Ch. Bolshoy's Wanda of Sanrick . This produced our foundation male Am & Can Ch. Sanrick's Ace of Spades who all of our puppies produced can be traced back to.

The pictures are various areas from around the yard. Living in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario on 20 acres overlooking the St. Mary's river and Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The lake freighters can be seen on the river out the living room windows.

Being a family hobby, the dogs were part of life. Family raised puppies, traveling to shows and showing the dogs. Currently Richard, after retiring from a "real" job, is busy making wooden dog crates as well as a licensed Canadian Kennel Club judge for all dogs and group for Sporting, Working, and Herding. He is currently approved for the back half of the Terrier Group and on permit for the other half of the group. Still actively involved in breeding and showing of the dogs. He is also a  lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club,  member of the Bouvier des Flandres Club of Canada,  member of the  Bouvier des Flandres of South Eastern Michigan, director of the Algoma Dog Fanciers all-breed club and member of the Canadian Dog Judges Association. His judging has seen assignments throughout Canada and the United States including judging the British Columbia Bouvier des Flandres Club regional specialty and the Bouvier des Flandres of South Eastern Michigan regional specialty.

Kathy (Richard & Sandra's youngest daughter) is active in Bouviers with training, grooming and showing most of Sanrick dogs. An all-breed professional handler traveling throughout Canada and the US. She is also a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, President of the Bouvier des Flandres Club of Canada,  President of the Algoma Dog Fanciers all-breed club, President of the Pomeranian Club of Ontario,  member of the Swedish Vallhund Club of America and Director of the Canadian Professional Handlers Association.

Also included in the family is Sandra, Richard's wife, who enjoys traveling with Richard on his assignments. She also is a great cook who bakes us lots of goodies to take with us. Lisa Lake-Vine, the "the non-Bouvier daughter" is also an all-breed professional handler who, together with Kathy, can be seen with many top-ranked dogs at the shows. She is married with 2 young children.
