FIFTH GENERATION

12. Jan Fransens (Fransis) BOEKEMA ⁽⁷⁾⁽⁸⁾ was born in 1743 in Swichum. He was baptized in 1743 in Wytgaard. He died on 26 Aug 1827 in Swichum. He was stepbrother to Dirk Klasis (1758), and godfather of Dirk's son Klaas Durks. My grandfather Knillis knew that we were related to the Boekema's from Warga, but he did not know from how far. He had a "bidprentje" of one member of this line in his prayerbook. This shows that there was still some connection between the two lines. He was a Landbouwer. He got a warning from "Napoleon" to declare his family name, what he did in 1812, 1st of January.

He was married to Trijntje Jans (KOOTEN) (daughter of Jan Hilles (KOOTEN) and Tietje (Tyttje) Jacobs (DE KERKER)) on 31 May 1800 in Swichum.⁽⁸⁾ Voor de dorpsrechter. Trijntje Jans (KOOTEN) was born in 1764 in Wartena. She died ab. 1805 in Swichum.⁽²⁾ Getr. te Wytgaard voor de kerk (rk) op 15 juni 1800. Jan Fransens (Fransis) BOEKEMA and Trijntje Jans (KOOTEN) had the following children:

20 ii. Japik Jans BOEKEMA was born on 23 May 1802 in Swichum. He (or she) was baptized on 23 May 1802 in Wytgaard. Doopget.: Tjerk Franses He (or she) died before 1803 in Swichum.
+21 iii. Jacobus (Japik) Jans BOEKEMA.
22 iv. Matje Jans BOEKEMA was born on 9 May 1804 in Swichum. She was baptized on 9 May 1804 in Wytgaard.⁽⁹⁾ Doopget.: Trientje Fransis
23 v. Tjerk Jans BOEKEMA was born on 24 Feb 1805. He was baptized on 24 Feb 1805 in Wytgaard.⁽⁹⁾ Doopget.: Durk Clases

He was married to Lijsbeth OEGES on 13 Sep 1807 in Wytgaard. ⁽²⁾
