Noni

I still think that Noni was a little blue-eyed angel sent down from Heaven to help us all deal with the loss of Calli; especially Mom.
After Calli died, Mom insisted we would have no more inside cats. She said she couldn't go through the pain of losing one again. A few weeks after Calli died I was looking out the back door and saw a small, little grey kitten on our back porch with our huge dog, Scout. All of our other cats are too afraid to go back there with him (even though the worst thing he'd do is noogie them to death!), but this little kitten was sitting there bravely.
I was on the phone with Mom (who was at my grandmother's house) and told her their was a kitten on the back porch. Right at that moment the kitten turned its head to face the window and I was stuck with the site of two big, beautiful blue eyes. I went outside and the brave little kitten ran happily up to me. She wasn't afraid of anything!
Mom was still saying "no" to another cat, but when she got home and looked at those beautiful blue eyes, she couldn't help but change her mind. That was how Noni (pronounced like Johnnie) came to be part of our family.
Noni was a strictly inside cat, not an in and out one like Calli had been. We felt it much safer that way. This adorable little grey kitten was obviously half Siamese, with Siamese markings and blue eyes. At first, she was pretty quiet, but as she got used to her new home and owners we found out we'd gotten more than we bargained for. She was insane!
Noni felt it her duty to climb, break, destroy, and knock over everything standing in the house. She was like a little tornado. Her favorite thing to do is hide behind and under furniture and wait for one of us to walk by...then she comes running to attack us and scare us half out of our wits!
We really thought nothing could be worse than a Noni in the house. Boy, were we ever wrong! Imagine a another cat worse than her, and teamed up with her! That's what we got when we adopted Noah, another little homeless cat, a few months later.
Noni and Noah are now quite the team. Very close and twin terrors..I couldn't write something about Noni and not include him, too.
Noni is a beauty, and a crazy one, at that. But she is very much loved. This little "angel" brought us all out of depression and gave us a new love. We would never forget Calli, but Noni helped us to get over losing her, and for that she is very special.
