Mount Vernon Knights to Host Pro-Life Speaker Michael Schwartz

The Mount Vernon Council, Knights of Columbus will host an open talk by Michael Schwartz on Jan 7 at 8 p.m., at the Council Home, 8592 Richmond Hwy., Alexandria, Virginia.
Schwartz, a leading pro-life activist for nearly 30 years, will speak on "Six Myths that Keep Abortion Legal," In 1974, he was one of the founders of the March for Life and has served as an officer of local pro-life organizations in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The talk is part of the Knight's preparation for participation in the Jan. 22 March for Life in Washington.
Schwartz is author of several books and articles and is the recipient of the Thomas Linacre Award for excellence in medical-moral journalism. Also, he has been a popular lecturer and a frequent guest on radio and television. For three years he hosted the nightly news and interview program, "Capital Watch," on NET, seen locally on Channel 43.
From 1977-86 he served as national director of public affairs for the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, then came to Washington as director of the Free Congress Center for Social Policy. He has been working in the House of Representatives since 1995.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Schwartz is a graduate of the University of Dallas, Texas. He and his wife have four children and live in Germantown, Maryland, where he is a charter member of the Father Horace B. McKenna Council of the Knights of Columbus.

It is noteworthy and honorable that some folks are willing to stand up for a ban on Partial-Birth Abortion. Let us not forget that ordinary everyday Abortion is also murder. We must understand that murder is murder no matter the method. Because one method of abortion seems to be horrible does not justify the other methods. We should be horrified and sickened by any Abortion regardless of the method. The Fifth Commandment spells it out clearly: "Thou shalt not kill." A fetus is a person, a human being with a God given soul. Imagine the pain the Lord must feel when any Abortion occurs. Please contact both of your Senators and Representative, via letter or phone, to let them know how horrified you are that Abortions are legal and to stop Partial-Birth Abortions and all other Abortions as soon as possible. (It has become apparent that they do not respond to email therefore you will have more of an impact by writing or telephoning.)
