We're in process (of course) of converting a 1985 Wayne School Bus for camping pursposes. We have designed in a garage behind the rear wheel wells for carrying our dirt bikes or snowmobiles. We have a set of bunks, shower, toilet, drop down queen size b d over the drivers seat, kitchen, pantry, wardrobe closet and a dinette. Towed two Ski-Doo's behind it recently in 14 below zero weather for a nice weekend snowmobile trip. Only went through 2 tanks of propane using the RV style furnace.

Loved your article. Sounds like my kind of thinking. We have a school bus that's storage in the rear and camper in the front to the wheel wells. We do flea markets. Works out great. Flea markets are my excuse to travel. We stay on the road alot. I just st rted my conversion. We now have two beds and the kit. table and chairs. I'm now ready to begin wiring and adding more inside cabniets. My freind is an artist and she painted the outside murals after we covered the windows and painted the bus. It looks re lly sharp on the outside but still needs alot of interior work. I am a carpenter and jack of all trades-not too worried about the inside. I keep talking about selling it and buying a Blue Bird flat front bus with a deisel/auto trans but i'v only had mine few weeks. We did go on a short run about 800 miles. Bus ran great--slept good to!! I will check back to your site later. It was great to talk to you!! Hey-Don't catch all the big ones, I'll be up that way soon. I'v been hiding my good rods and tackle fr m the kids for years-the kids all moved out-now I'm about ready to go fishing, I mean really go fishing-everywhere. Thanks for sharing your neat homepage. Sure wish there were more of us women out there fishing, and showing the guys how good we are. I have to say thank you to my wonderful husband who does not fish but is willing to travel almost anywhere so I can. W vacation in Canada so I can fish while he catches up on his reading. At lunch he jumps in his canoe and paddles a lunch out to me and then when I come in at night he cleans my catch. What a guy! He even took me to Alaska for 7 weeks so I could fish fo halibut; caught a 56 lb. one. Going back in 2000. Keep up the good work, and give us some hints on where to fish when we're in your area; we go through Washington on way back down from BC so that we can go to Salt Lake City. So give up some hints on f shing spots we can get to easily.

We found it very exciting that you have a 48 passenger school bus. So far you are the only site that we found that had this size bus. Our is a 1966 Ford 48 passenger school bus made by Carpenter. Gas engine, 4 speed with dual speed rear end. It was al eady stripped and a sort of conversion started on it. Painted a puky beige. Plan to raise roof 1 foot this summer. We have already found our sink at the swap meet for $10 (almost brand new) Brother in law is a sheet metal man and will be helping us wit the skinning and all other metal things (we also get the metal dirt cheap)Hubby plans on making all the cabinets, flooring and installations himself. Sure would love to see some pictures of your bus. We've given ourselves 5 years to complete the conver ion and then we will semi-retire, working in resorts, campgrounds, etc. We've been married for 19 years and have to almost grown children, both boys.
