I Have Been Adopted
by Barbara Philbrook

I have been adopted by my Heavenly Father into His family,
and if  you will allow me to I'd like to tell you what that means to me.

The sins that I have committed and the wrongs I have done,
have all been forgiven and they've been forgotten each and every one.

I having been abandoned by my parents as baby to be raised by another,
can claim the Heavenly King Our Savior as my adopted brother.

When things go wrong as they often do,
I can turn my problems over to my Father above and He sends me peace as the Bible tells us he will do.

I have been given a life saving gift known as grace,
and when the time is right I'll be taken home to see my Savior and my Father face to face.

There is a comfort that one can not define,
in knowing that when there is a need to be forgiven again  as I confess that forgiveness will be mine.

I need not worry what will happen to me once I die,
God has told me in my Bible and I know he does not lie.

I don't  have to spend time worrying over what to do,
my Bible assures me God is watching out for me and He can do it so much better it's true.

Each day I surrender and give him all that I am or will ever be,
and then I watch for each new adventure rather expectantly.

Now I am not perfect God hasn't finished working with me as yet,
but the outcome will be Awesome of that one fact I'm willing to bet.

If you would like to live with this very same peace of mind,
just open the Bible and ask God to show you He's promised that all who seek shall find!

Then when our time is passed and we've been called home to stay,
we can share the endless joy that being in God's Family brings our way.
