He Changed Me
by Barbara Philbrook

I was this sorrow filled creature wallowing in pain,
God wiped away my tears and made me look at life again.

He showed me that what I looked on as painful memories,
were the means that he used to unlock the door to character they were the keys.

He showed me that the mountains of trials I remembered having to climb,
were the strength building lessons that now help me to live one day at a time.

The self pity was a lesson on what pain and hurt people in life often feel,
now when I share my testimony they know that my feelings are real.

God took things that were too painful to bring to mind,
and showed me that through them I could to others be loving and kind.

The events were a burden at the time I lived through each,
but God has shown me there were lessons to learn which He alone could teach.

Now if you could take me back and offer me life anew,
one without each pain what do you think I would choose to do?

I would not change even one second of the past,
because the lessons learned while walking through them will for an eternity last.

Yes He changed me and I am grateful for all of the time that it took,
because by taking His time it gave me a chance to take a second look.

God desires and promises He will change you too,
look in your Bible in 2nd Cor.5:17 and you will see this is true.

The changes come and it's new creatures that we are,
but no more loved then when God reached out to bring us home from afar.
