The Child In Me
by Barbara Philbrook

The child in me has an ache within,
I can not even tell you where or when it did begin.

Is it from remembrance of things of the past?
I'm an adult now, those pains shouldn't last.

Is it from sins or guilt's I've not forgiven?
I was pardoned once, I accepted salvation's eternal living.

Is it fear that I can't live up to what's expected of me?
With Jesus I have hope, it says in 1st Peter 1:3.

Is it lack of faith in my Father above?
Faith is given. Ephesians 2:8 tells us due to His great love.

I must trust the Lord not on my understanding.
That is what Proverbs 3:6 is commanding.

The child in me must trust God in the very same way.
So I turn the child within over to God today.

The child in me is enfolded in God's great love too,
and that very same love is available to you.
