Dearest Heavenly Father
by Barbara Philbrook

Dearest Heavenly Father I am a sinner and yet you love me,
you have forgiven me for all of my sins and set me free.

You always hear me when I come to you in prayer,
and though I do not deserve it you have promised me one day I'll be with you there.

You have opened my eyes that I may see the truths in your Holy Word,
and have given me strengths to see me through the trials which have occurred.

I am not worthy Lord have you taken a good look at me,
I am not fit to represent you nor do I think I can ever be.

I am ashamed that I can not overcome the sins that are overcoming me,
I can only put myself in your hands and through you gain the victory.

Lord I am nothing without you I am incapable of even the simplest task,
thank you for caring and for being there whenever I ask.

If the decision of wether or not I should to be saved depended on me,
then I would never make the grade that I can plainly see.

Thank you for making the decision Lord and thank you for offering it to us for free,
thank you for allowing Jesus to pay the price on Calvary.

Thank you for loving me Lord even in my imperfect state,
thank you for teaching me that for some things I must wait.

Thank you Heavenly Father for loving me even when I doubt,
and thank you for being there when I fall lovingly  holding your hand out.

Thank you for lifting me up Lord when I've allowed myself to fall,
thank you for answering me when on your name I call.

Thank you for being You Lord and for letting me see myself as I really am,
it makes me all the more appreciate your Salvation Plan.

Thank You Heavenly Father for every thing you do,
but thank you most of all just for being YOU.
