I Don't Care
by Barbara Philbrook

As we talked you said "I don't care",
it tore me in half and filled me with despair.

I've seen your walk with the Heavenly Father,
I've seen Him encourage you to try harder.

I've seen Him lift you from hurt and despair,
and now to hear you say "I don't care".

I've seen money be placed in your hand,
as God provided for His great plan.

I've watched the enemy charge and attack,
I've seen where God's strength does not lack.

I've seen your loved ones cause you pain,
and yet from retaliation you always refrain.

I've seen you lie before God on your face,
asking for strength to get you to the next place.

You've been such an example of might to me,
and I know you'll come out victoriously.

I refuse to receive the words I don't care,
because when I get to Heaven I want you there.

I know your love for God is very true,
and so I'm going to do the only thing I know to do.

Instead of giving to worry and despair,
I'm lifting you up to God in prayer.

I'm asking Him to provide you with wisdom and might,
so that you will win this fight.

He will never leave us nor forsake us I've read,
I know we can trust every word He said.

I don't care what appears to be,
I'm concentrating instead on God getting the victory.
