The Facts
by
Barbara Philbrook
It's not the
fact that you say I love you,
but that the way you live shows it to be true.
It's not the
fact that you give me a gift,
but that you care enough my spirits to lift.
It's not the
fact that you compliment me,
but the enjoyment on your face that I see.
It's not the
fact that when we meet we embrace,
but the love I feel as it's taking place.
It's not the
fact that you say thank you to me,
but that you received it appreciatively.
It's not the
fact that you go to Church,
but that you go to God when life begins to lurch.
It's not the
fact that Jesus hung on a cross,
but that He did so to prevent our being lost.
It's not the
fact that we'd burn for eternity,
but that our God loves us so much you see.
It's not the
fact that I comprehend it all,
it's simply that I heard the Master's call.
It's not a
fact I'm any better than you,
it's simply I appreciate what Jesus went through.
It's not the
fact that I fear Hell hot,
I don't want His suffering to have been for naught.
It is a fact
that you too must choose,
so that what Jesus offers you will not loose.
