Far From Home
by Barbara Philbrook

Our enlisted young men and women are far from home,
but in Psalm 91 we are told they are not alone.

If it is God's protection they beseech,
He will give His angels charge over each.

They will not so much as dash a foot we are told,
this was promised in Psalms 91 in days of old.

Our Heavenly Father promises to protect us from all harm,
having Him on our side is better than any lucky charm.

But better than the protection offered to each,
is the truths that the Holy Bible has to teach.

There is a choice which must be made by all,
we must believe and on Jesus' name call.

We must choose to receive salvation for our sins,
Jesus has paid our way to Heaven so we can get in.

There was a price put on sin way back when the world began,
the sin that was to be committed by each and every man.

That price is death, that was to be the cost,
but Jesus paid it so none of us need to be lost.

It is not forced on you, no not in any way,
you must accept it yourself as you go to Jesus to pray.

No one can do this for you no matter the depth of love,
the gift is offered from a generous Father above.

None of us know when our time on earth will end,
so won't you make your decision now my friend.

Once you believe and invite Jesus inside,
deep within your heart is where He will forever abide.

The Holy Spirit starts the changes that must be made in you,
the believing and the choosing are all you have to do.

Then you trust and let the changes occur,
you will soon discover there's a new life you prefer.

Far from home but never far from our loving Father,
if you haven't found Him yet please look a little harder.
