Feeling Alone
by Barbara Philbrook

Feeling alone is such a painful plight,
but I have news that will bring you delight.

Never ever do we stand all alone,
God is everywhere I've been shown.

No mortal man may accompany me,
but I've a companion you can't see.

Not one thing I utter goes unheard,
and God finds worth in each and every word.

It matters not what opinions mortals have of me,
God holds me in high esteem you see.

He cares about each hurt or sorrow,
and He promises to get me through till tomorrow.

It's not me or my strength by which I stand,
God holds me up with His own hand.

Sometimes I forget and a tear or two will fall,
but then I remember and on Him I call.

This does not change one simple fact,
there are cruel people who don't care how they act.

Only God's love is so perfectly pure,
everyone else's opinions we can ignore.

Feeling alone can certainly be rough,
but knowing of God's love helps us to be tough.

This life is but the twinkling of an eye in eternity,
and I am assured the whole time God is here with me.
