Feelings
by Barbara Philbrook

Feelings are not how we know that we are saved,
nor is it because we keep the commandments that God on the stone had engraved.

If salvation could have been obtained by what we feel or do,
then Jesus would not have had to die to save me and you.

If what we tried to do could make new creatures out of you and me,
then there would have been no reason for Jesus to hang so that we would know victory.

The price needed to be paid by one free from sin,
which is the only way that you or I could be allowed in.

Now how does what Jesus did on the cross pay for our sin,
it was the atonement that God planned before creation of this world he did begin.

God in his wisdom and his very deep love for mankind,
arranged it  so no one who chose to accept Jesus would be left behind.

Satan would like to have us all lose our salvation,
he tries to persuade us that we are hopelessly lost and cause us to worry over our and God's relation.

"God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" or the victory to have won.

Where does this ability to believe in what we cannot see come from,
it is another of the gifts God gives to us so we may live in the new kingdom.

The gifts of life everlasting and faith are given to us from our Father above,
that all who choose to accept them will be changed by his great love.

If your faith is not sufficient and you find it hard to believe,
just explain that to God and ask for more and you are promised that more you will receive.

You can't rely on what you feel from without or within,
you simply must seek him and trust that a transformance in your life he'll begin.
