Gethsemane
by Barbara Philbrook

Gethsemane is where Jesus begged God  if it could possibly be,
Please Father let this cup pass from me.

Knowing the inevitable can give us cause for great grief,
where intercession from our Lord is our only relief.

We may most certainly seek to have our cup pass us by,
just as Jesus in Gethsemane did try.

But just as our Savior did on that night,
we must add "never the less, Father we know your will is right".

We may not be thrilled at the aspect of what we must bear,
but we are assured God's Grace is sufficient to get us through there.

To trust and obey, that is the only way,
to bring Honor and Glory to the Father this day.

Heavenly Father please pour your strength into me,
that those bearing witness may your true Glory see.

May any need of others that I may face,
be filled Dear Father by your Precious Grace.

May all that I need to be and all that I must do,
be sufficient Dear Father to turn all eyes toward you.
