Give God A Chance
by Barbara Philbrook

There are things I can't understand,
these I put in God's capable hands.

There are things beyond my control,
I surrender them to God as we are told.

There are things intended to cause me sorrow,
instead I dwell on Heaven's tomorrow.

There are things done to get me down,
meant to test my faith and cause me to frown.

There are instances when I get to make a choice,
that's when I praise God with my voice.

Everything that happens God uses for my good,
as long as I submit to Him as I should.

God gave me all of the faith I possess,
giving Him the praise He deserves brings me happiness.

There are times when things get rough,
then I wonder if my faith is quite enough.

Then I remember a father saying "Help my unbelief",
I call out the same and get instant relief.

What a marvelous God we serve,
having all of our needs held in reserve.

We recognize we have a need,
we take it to Him not having to beg or plead.

Our Father knew our needs in advance,
and will supply each if we'll give Him the chance.
