Lord would you give me the strength today,
to face all of the trials that will come my way?

The strength I need to complete each task,
I know you will provide me as I ask.

I by myself am too weak to face any more,
but together we can handle anything in store.

Give me enough strength to resist temptation,
and the knowledge I need to use contemplation.

Would you give me the ability to love others,
and the words to make them sisters and brothers?

And finally would you give me the faith too,
that I need to sustain me today as I serve you?
