God Lends Us Children
by Barbara Philbrook

God lends us children, we are to do our best,
then we must let go and let Him do the rest.

We plant the seeds and give them love,
then God takes over from up above.

He takes what we've so carefully raised,
and guides them through the rest of their days.

Sometimes there are trials they must face,
but if we've guided them right their faith is in place.

There are decisions to be decided upon,
but they have their training they can count on.

They must choose the company that they'll keep,
out of all of the new folks that they meet.

Mistakes and errors might be made,
but don't worry there's a good foundation laid.

Be there to encourage them to stay strong,
and on occasion even help them along.

Mostly now your work is done,
soon there'll be grand children who are so much fun.

God lends us children to raise for awhile,
then we let them go with an encouraging smile.
