Grandma's Birthday
by Barbara Philbrook

Grandma we're here to celebrate your hundredth Birthday today,
and I have a few things I'd like to say.

You see when it comes to Grandmas I've really been Blessed,
God lovingly gave me the very best!

Thank You for your kindness and your exemplary way,
Thank You for being there for us day by day.

I cherish your joy and your loving smile,
and that whenever you were needed there was no denial.

I am thankful for the inspiration you've been to me,
and that when there was a need you reprimanded so tenderly.

I thank you for the examples of how to live life,
and for the standard of coping with trials and strife.

I Thank You for the love given unconditionally,
even when not doing what was expected of me.

I am grateful you taught me to appreciate God's green Earth,
and instilled in me a true sense of self worth.

Thank You for teaching me all about stability,
and for showing me that I too must walk in humility.

Thank You for the memories I have inside,
Thank You for being a Grandma in whom I  have such pride.
