The Greatest Sorrow
by Barbara Philbrook

The greatest sorrow that a parent can ever know,
is losing their child, the letting go.

Still what is of some comfort to me,
is knowing you'll be with Jesus for eternity.

To know you accepted His outstretched hand,
and partook of His salvation plan.

Absent with the body means present with God above,
being surrounded by His sweet love.

Never to know pain to any degree,
brings some small comfort Dear to me.

Never to be sad or shed a tear,
never to feel distress or tremble in fear.

The sorrow I feel is for what I will miss,
I know for you there is nothing but bliss.

God is so loving and reaches out to every man,
it is up to us to choose to accept His hand.

It is up to me to seek and find,
peace within from a Father so loving and kind.

It is I who will decide if we will be,
together again forever in eternity.

No man is rejected who wants to take part,
who invites Jesus into their heart.

God is waiting expectantly,
to hear what my own decision will be.

The greatest sorrow that will ever be known,
will be by the ones who refused to be God's very own.
