Handmaidens
by Barbara Philbrook

Handmaidens: female servants the dictionaries say,
we recognize them as workers for Christ in this the last days.

Willing servants one and all,
each anxiously responding as they hear the Master's call.

Some are teachers or interpreters of the word,
others are laborers when the need has occurred.

There have been those donating time and abilities,
while others offer prayers while on bent knees.

The time has come for each to heed the call,
God has a use for us one and all.

We each have a talent that God can use for His good,
if only we are willing to do as we should.

God tells us the handmaidens will prophesy in the last days,
we are seeing His gifts used in so many ways.

Are you being beckoned to do your part,
is there a restlessness down deep in your heart?

Go to the Father ask that His will be shown,
that if  there's work for you to do He make it known.

Then take the step that will begin it all,
nothing is more satisfying than answering the Master's call.

There's a joy in serving that will gladden your heart,
and the sooner you serve the sooner it will start.

Handmaidens it is a label we can each wear well,
as we all work together to save souls from  Hell.
