It Makes My Heart Ache
by Barbara Philbrook

Dear Lord My God, it causes my heart to ache,
to know that you have gone through so very  much just for our sake.

That you would give up so much to pay  our debt,
I'm not sure that I have understood the full extent of it yet.

It seems to me that the more I come to know you,
that I still have so much more growing to do.

I think I'm just beginning to realize why  we'll live an eternity,
it'll take that long for us to understand what we mean to thee.

In this absolutely imperfect life I've lived there's absolutely nothing I have ever done,
that makes me worthy that you should allow us to do what we did to your son.

To have come on this sin filled earth,
and give his life for people of no worth.

Lord I'm so grateful that you don't evaluate me in the same way I do,
because if you did I'd not be coming home to live with you.

I'm so thankful that you care so deeply for me,
I ask you to open my heart and fill me  with the Holy Spirit so I can better serve thee.

Lord if there is something that I can say  that will be of any help to another,
then as promised in Exodus 4:11 You give me the words you want me to utter.

Would you open my eyes that I may see,
just what it is that I can do for others that would best serve thee?

Please Lord if it is thy  will could you heal me I humbly ask,
so that I can be capable to handle any task.

And if for some reason healing me does not fit in your plans,
then just give me the strength and courage to fulfill  any task that my life serving you demands?

Thank You Lord for all that I am I know I did not reach this point  without you being there,
to be totally and completely surrendered to you  is my daily prayer.
