He Did It For Me
by Barbara Philbrook

He did it for me,
so I could live for eternity.

He knew way back then,
I'd hear His knock and invite Him in.

He knew that He'd suffer on the cross,
but did it for me so I'd not be lost.

He was willing to take on the sins of man,
to fulfill His Father's salvation plan.

He did it for me and all who would hear,
so in His inheritance we could each share.

He left His Father and His throne,
to offer the greatest sacrifice ever known.

Three days later He rose from the grave,
and said all who believe in Him are saved.

Even if I'd have been the only one,
He still would have done exactly what was done.

Now it is up to us to do our part,
we must hear the knock and open the door to our heart.

No one can accept for another man,
that isn't part of the salvation plan.

Each must make his or her own choice,
then call out to Him in their own voice.

He did it for me He did it for you,
won't you examine the facts to see what's true.

Won't you seek as we're told we ought,
so He he won't have suffered it all for naught.

I know within that He did it for me,
and I'll sing His praises for eternity.
