Helping Hands
by Barbara Philbrook

Helping Hands have reached out from all across the whole United States,
people have left their families to come and help us even though they risked their fates.

Some have been here for weeks and the work has been so strenuous,
the reaction from our fellow man has been so very generous.

Words can not convey what we feel deep within our heart,
there is no way to portray the love that Floridians wish to impart.

Gratitude is so difficult to express in a verbal way,
because words beautiful enough to say what we feel haven't been realized as of this day.

You have given not only time and your gift of a helping hand,
but you've given bits of yourselves a gift so precious when given by any man.

There have been new friendships created which shall last through the years,
parting from each of you will be such sweet sorrow and will cause many many tears.

Memories have been created which we shall be telling for generations to come,
and of course there will be some souvenirs and the stories of where they came from.

The year without the fireworks and the smoke filled sky,
are just two of the memories from this Fourth of July.

Helping hands will be by far  the best memory of all,
how there were people from all across the U.S. who came before there even was a call.

There is definitely a God a fact that we are so aware is true,
another fact is that His love is exemplified in each and everyone of you.

Thank You for your thoughtfulness, thank you for changing your holiday plans,
thank you for everything especially your helping hands.
