How Can I Thanks Thee?
by Barbara Philbrook

How can I thank thee for releasing me from the pains of the past,
the pain of feeling useless and loveless and that I was a failure at any task.

You've made me aware that not one soul is without  worth,
so much so that your son came and paid for the sins of all of us on earth.

The longer I seek to know you and why you should care about me,
the more I realize how sinful I was before inviting your Spirit into me.

The true depth of your love is something I'm not  sure I'll ever totally comprehend,
and even so you ask nothing in return for the love you freely send.

If you'd please give me the words you'd like me to say,
to anyone else in need of hearing what you offer if only they pray.

I on my own am incapable of doing justice in telling your story,
and any interest found in my verses is meant to bring you Lord all the Honor andGlory.

I pray with all my heart and soul that when others should look at me,
that this sinful undeserving person is not what they see.

No Lord what I seek as I daily surrender totally to you when I pray,
is that others see a reflection of you as they look my way.

Lord might any word that I utter or any deed that I do,
bring to others a burning desire to learn more about you?

I ask you Lord to give me every attribute that I will need,
so others will be enlightened as any of my verses they may read.

And Lord would you because of my total surrender to you each day,
make each and every aspect of my life a tribute to bring honor your way.

Lord I have this insatiable desire,
to reach as many souls as I can to help you save them from the eternal fire.

My four precious children you lent to me Lord have grown,
and to the best of my ability seeds of your love in them I've sown.

So whatever life is left in this human body in which I live,
I surrender it over to you Lord for whatever service I can give.
