I Could Dwell
by Barbara Philbrook

I could dwell on negative thoughts today,
but I choose to think in a positive way.

Negative thoughts bring me down you see.
I prefer to look on things that lift me spiritually.

I prefer to concentrate on what lifts me up,
count the blessings that overflow my cup.

I awoke today and I can breath,
and the pains I once had God has chosen to relieve.

I can see and the sun is bright.
I survived through one more dark night.

I can speak and walk and pray.
God has granted me this brand new day.

We have a roof over our head,
and we each slept soundly snug in a bed.

We have food in the fridge that we may eat,
and air conditioning to fight the heat.

Laundry reminding me we've clothes to wear.
Friends and loved ones about whom we care.

I could dwell on the negative and make Satan's day,
but I choose to honor God by living in a positive way.
