If God Loves Me
by Barbara Philbrook

If God loves me tell me now, this plea tears my heart,
because what if I'm unable to answer it some how?

Or the thing that is more worrisome to me,
what if I answer you and you still don't see?

You see God has been answering you all along,
His is a still quiet voice, not one loud and strong.

You've been yelled and screamed at your whole life,
it's hard for you to recognize love free from strife.

Now I want you to do this one thing for me,
I want you to ask God to open your eyes that you may see.

To fine tune your ears so they may hear,
His precious answer so loving and dear.

To soften your heart, make it ready to receive,
and to add extra faith so you will believe.

Because, my friend, God has sent this message to you,
"I love you my child and I have much for you to do.

I want you to take all of the pain and trials of your life,
write about them for others who live in strife.

Tell them 'See what Satan meant as bad for me,
my God uses it so that His love you too can see.'"

God can take all the bad and make it be good,
if only we all turn to Him as we know we should.

Tell others from whence your strength came,
and assure them He offers them the very same.

Share how even when you were tired and ready to throw it all in,
God sent you here and spoke to you once again.

God never gave up and neither should you,
because there is still a great work to do.

God bless you my friend, I'm waiting to read what you have to write,
I know it will fill many hearts with hopeful delight.
