I Hear You Father
by Barbara Philbrook

I hear You Father, I hear the voice with which You speak to me,
and I now shall recognize it throughout eternity.

I remember when I'd need a nudge or two,
just to be aware that the voice I heard was You.

But the road we've traveled has brought me closer to Thee,
now Your voice is easily recognized by me.

Once You had to knock me over the head to draw my attention,
but now I am constantly seeking Your intervention.

I hear You Father, if You so much as whisper my name,
and I know when I pray to You it is the very same.

We are now so in tune thanks to Jesus Your Son,
I can never repay all that You've done.

I hear You Father and I wish only to obey,
I am so completely surrendered to You in every way.
