I May Bend
by Barbara Philbrook

I may bend during times of tempestuous strife,
but I'll not break because Jesus gave up His life.

Jesus died that I may succeed through it all,
He gave me permission that on His name I can call.

I on my own am brittle and weak,
but Jesus supplies all strength to those who seek.

I could not withstand the future pestilent times,
but the strength I stand on is Jesus' not mine.

By the rights of inheritance I am strengthened you see,
and Jesus is waiting to bestow the same on thee.

Satan strives to break us one and all,
but Jesus is waiting to hear us each call.

None will be forsaken, each will be heard,
ask anyone for whom the change has already occurred.

It is up to you whether you will break or just bend,
but make your choice quickly, soon this world will meet it's end.

I may bend but I will never break,
because what Jesus offers I gladly take.
