Instill In Me
by Barbara Philbrook

Father would you please instill in me,
an exuberance of life for others to see.

Make my light so shine forth in the dark of this world,
that the way home to you will be unfurled.

Allow others to see something in me,
that draws them ever closer to thee.

Give me the words to give relief from pain,
give me the ones that will help to sustain.

Open my eyes that they may see every need,
then provide the strength I require to proceed.

Teach me to look at my fellow man with my heart,
blind me to things that would have me set them apart.

Instill in me what it takes to bring others home,
it breaks my heart that they may be left here alone.

Please have me react as you would here in my place,
when others look at me may they see a reflection of your face.

Fill me with your love Father overflowing constantly,
providing a source otherwise unavailable through me.

Reminding me constantly that if it were not for you,
I would still be amongst the lost sinners too.

Instill in me the beckoning call,
let's reach them Father one and all.
