I Sometimes Forget
by Barbara Philbrook

I sometimes forget what others see,
when they turn their glance to look at me.

It is not me their eyes rest upon,
but what I represent and how I carry on.

I am a representative of my Father above,
and should constantly be displaying His love.

Be forgiving as I would like to be forgiven,
not allowing myself to be emotionally driven.

Being thoughtful to one another,
an enticement for others to become a brother.

Sharing what God has done for me,
extending invitations to others enticingly.

Willing to hear what makes their heart ache,
telling them that Jesus died for their sake.

I sometimes forget I am here for a purpose,
and that God does not judge by what is on the surface.

It's what is deep within that matters to Him,
that is why He provided payment for my sin.

I sometimes forget that life does not center around me,
and that what's important is eternity.

Eternity with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I wish I could yell loud enough so all could hear it.

I sometimes forget who and what I am,
and wonder about my part in the Great Master Plan.

I am but a speck in the Plan you see,
willingly waiting for God to use me.
