It's Your Cross To Bear
by Barbara Philbrook

It's your cross to bear and I can't carry the burden for you,
as much as I wish that is what I could do.

I can't feel your pain or shed your tears,
I can't lighten the load or take away your fears.

I can't do any of the loving things I'd like to do for you.
I can only offer you up in prayer and that is what I'll gladly do.

We do not get to choose the crosses we are to bear,
but at least we have a loving Savior who promises the load to share.

He promises to hear when on His name you call,
and if we give Him our trust, He will see us through it all.

He promises we will never have more than we can bear,
and when the load seems too heavy the burden He will share.

Nothing is impossible for us when we are surrendered to Him.
No matter what temptations you are faced with, you will win.

Call on the Savior, He is waiting patiently for you.
He will give you the strength you need to see this through.

I love you dearly and will do whatever I can,
but the best thing I know of is sharing God's loving plan.

If I could, I would remove all of the pain and sorrow you face.
If I could, I would stand and take it for you in your place.

It's your cross to bear and the kindest most loving thing I can do,
is assure you of God's Love and that He's listening for you.
