I Walk in His Footsteps
by Barbara Philbrook

I walk in His footprints and that makes the way sure,
He's promised to guide now and forevermore.

Jesus walked in a way that brought honor to His Father,
and He's promised that by accepting Him my walk will not be harder.

Before learning of and making my choice,
I had never been privileged to hear His still small voice.

Until I surrendered I faltered and often fell,
and one of these days would have ended up in hell.

So loving is our Savior, He kept beckoning me,
until one fine day His truths I could see.

My eyes were opened, my heart felt the tug,
no longer would I walk alone, my own burdens to lug.

I recognized and accepted my personal Savior,
and immediately He started changing my sinful behavior.

Now I have a comforter a guide and something more,
I have an assurance He will give blessings galore.

Imagination cannot phantom what is in store for me,
it is enough to know I'll walk beside Him for eternity.

I walk in His footprints each and every day,
because I seek His guidance as I kneel to pray.
