Just Because
by Barbara Philbrook

Just because I share my Christianity,
I'm not claiming to be perfect you see.

I'm still human and have a fault or two,
I may be far more imperfect than you.

I make no claim of perfection you see,
Jesus still has much to do in me.

I can promise I'll never intentionally make you sad,
nor will I ever treat you bad.

I can promise to be here to be your friend,
and that I'll care about you till my life's end.

I can share my faith and offer you hope,
and be there to catch you at the end of your rope.

All of this I can do for you,
because Jesus' love in me is true.

Through Jesus' strength I can strive to live right,
not by my own determination or might.

I on my own would completely fail,
but with Jesus' grace I will prevail.

I speak of my salvation not to bring honor to me,
but to share with you what Jesus offers so lovingly.

So please don't be offended by anything I've done,
instead try to see what's being offered by God's precious Son.
