Lean On Me
by Barbara Philbrook

Lean on me is what our Father has to say,
learn you must lean on me in each and every way.

The load is not yours to carry all alone,
why even your sins I sent my Son to atone.

I don't expect you to make it on your own strength,
look in my Bible, I explain it in great length.

The trials and tribulations that come your way,
are only allowed so you can grow stronger today.

I have a protective hedge around each of you,
and only what I allow can find it's way through.

If I've allowed it to find it's way into your life,
it's because you need character building which comes through strife.

If there were an easier way of developing perfection in you,
that's exactly what I would have chosen to do.

But you must each learn to lean on me,
with me by your side nothing is impossible you see.

I will never put on you more than you can bear,
but you must reach out for me, I am always there.

Call on me when times are too tough,
I can make smooth the roads that are rough.

Reach to me for comfort when life is filled with sorrow,
I get you through and brighten your tomorrow.

I am your strength, your comfort and your source of stability,
if only you will learn to lean on me.
