Let Go and Let God
by Barbara Philbrook

Let go and let God have His very own way,
leave your troubles and doubts as you pray.

Take them all and place them in God's hands,
that's how He's intended it since time began.

We are supposed to go to God for our every need,
just present them to Him we don't have to beg or plead.

Tell God what you have on your mind,
then through His grace peace is what you find.

God knows our every need before it arises,
never in our lives to Him are there any surprises.

The need for the request is for our sake,
it is for our awareness that these petitions we must make.

So that we know from whom our strength is supplied,
so we know on whom we may rely.

No man is an island unto himself,
nor are any of us trophies to be put on a shelf.

We are whatever God has allowed us to be,
and if we ask, our eyes will be opened that we may see.

We will see that on our own we are nothing at all,
and without our God we would definitely fall.

Without the ability to kneel before Him and pray,
we each would most defiantly go astray.

So let go and let God have it His way,
that's how it was planned, that's the way we should pray.
