Lord You Changed Me
by Barbara Philbrook

Lord what I am is not the same as what I used to be,
since inviting you into my life You have changed me.

I haven't the strength to cross the street,
but through you I could walk a mile with no feet.

I am incapable of even the most mundane task,
but with your strength I can do all you ask.

Words are difficult for me to use,
but with your precious gift my writing is profuse.

Forgiveness does not come natural to me,
but through your grace I can live anger free.

Before knowing you I collapsed when things went wrong,
but now through you I am constantly strong.

Reading your word once was a task,
but now you reveal truth whenever I ask.

Trusting was once a foreign experience for me,
not since you've shown me faith is given for free.

Waiting was once a monumental task,
now I've patience galore but for awhile was sorry I dared ask.

Lord I guess what I trying to say,
is that without You I'd  be a failure today.

Thank you for the gifts you've given me from above,
But thank you the most for your precious love.
