Love Is
by Barbara Philbrook

Love is not the ability to speak in a thousand tongues fluently,
but the gift of hearing and speaking with a caring heart you see.

Love is not foretelling the future to your fellow man,
but caring what happens and stretching out your hand.

Love is not surrendering all of your earthly wealth to see what will be gained,
love is sharing so others will also be sustained.

Love is being patient, knowing how to wait on another,
love is also deeply caring about your downtrodden brother.

Love is never wishing you had what does not belong to you,
Love does not put on airs for others to view.

Love does not behave unseemly,
nor is love's mind only and always on "Me".

Love is not quick to anger no matter the cause,
and love's mind dwells not on evil but rather takes a prayerful pause.

Love finds no joy in injustice you see,
love finds truth has much more desirability.

Love beareth and endureth all things big and small,
no matter what comes, love hopeth and believeth through them all.

Love is not bought or sold,
love is of God, that's what we've been told.

Without God there is no love,
it is instilled in us from our Father above

Ask and you shall receive is what the Holy Word has to say,
invite God into your life and start loving today.
