Jesus You Love Me
by Barbara Philbrook

Jesus, you love me this I know,
I looked in the Bible the truth of this it did show.

Now I'm not worthy of even a second thought from you,
but your love has touched me through and through.

You've sent the Holy Spirit into my heart,
wonderful new changes in me to start.

Hours and hours on past sorrows I used to dwell,
Now I spend all of my hours writing verses so others I can tell.

I want to tell others of what you did for me,
and of course the story of salvation and that it's free.

Some people haven't yet heard that you left your home there,
to come and die that we may live in heaven with you your glory to share.

The story is so simple yet so lovingly true,
you gave your life to pay for our sin so we could go home with you.

You offered this gift as a gesture of love,
then went home to your father making mansions for us above.

When everyone in each corner of this world has heard,
when we have completely spread the word.

Then you can come on clouds from your throne above,
and gather us all together to live forever in your love.

In the home you have made for us there,
there'll be no sickness, pain, sorrow, or fear.

Lord, I surrender all that I am or could be for you to use,
putting my thoughts on paper to be shared in whatever way you choose.

And if perchance anyone has picked up this paper and been touched by this
short story, then praise be to God because to him belongs the glory.
