Nevertheless
by Barbara Philbrook

Father we are told in Your Word, "Believe
and whatsoever you ask you will receive".

"Where two or more are gathered in my name,
what you seek you will receive the same".

We are told over and over "Believe,
have faith and you'll receive".

And since faith is a gift from You,
we know we can ask for more and receive that too.

But there is one more thing we are to know,
that You are superior in knowing how things should go.

You know the end from the beginning,
and You know if coming in first would actually be winning.

In this race we are running called life,
You know if being first would bring happiness or strife.

So when we claim promises, be there one or more,
we should always remember You know what's in store.

We must remember to add the "nevertheless",
if we want this promise our lives to bless.

The "nevertheless Thy will be done",
is an assurance that we are not making our life a harder one.
