I Was Nothing
by Barbara Philbrook

I was nothing Lord absolutely nothing without you in my life,
I was nothing but worries, trouble, and strife.

The wasted time the time spent on feeling sorrow and sheading tears,
the wasted yesterdays the  long wasted years.

Ah but there are  tomorrows and there is the perfect will of God,
and though we don't deserve it though it all seems rather odd.

We needn't worry just surrender our will to our Father above,
God will take that surrender and fill us with His perfect love.

Our hearts will be transformed and used to reach lost souls here on earth,
making all who will listen into creatures of worth.

God has a purpose for each and everyone,
so much does He love us He sacrificed His own precious Son.

Do you want to be useful to you want to fulfill God's intended plan,
just accept your salvation  no one else can embrace it only you can.

God is waiting He wants to hear of your personal choice,
no one else can speak for you He desires hear your voice.

I no longer am a nothing for never again will I stand alone,
since I accepted salvation I am now one of His very own.

You too can know you are someone special in His sight,
just accept what He's offering to you and everything will turn out right.

Then when all His own are called home to be with Him for eternity,
right there amongst them will be you and me.
