Not I, But God
by Barbara Philbrook

Who brought me to where I am today,
to the place where I believe  that in order to survive that I must pray?

Not I but God!

Who is responsible for the faith I have that someday I will be with my father above,
to spend an eternity surrounded by love?

Not I but God!

Who wipes my eyes when they overflow with tears,
and gives me a  sense of calm when I am filled with fears?

Not I but God!

Who planned for me to one day learn that  salvation was free,
and then opened the Word of God that his truths I'd  see?

Not I but God!

Who sent the Holy Spirit to live in my heart,
and made me aware that He'd do all the changing in me and that surrendering was my part?

Not I but God!

Who sent his son that We might live,
and then made sure that the facts of this free gift to the whole world he did give?

Not I but God!

Who watches over each and every one who was ever born,
and sent his son to be crowned with a crown of thorns?

Not I But God!

Who asks only that we believe and accept what is true,
who wants so very badly to be accepted by you too?

Not I but God!

Who had set the price that must be payed for our sin,
and then went and had his son pay the price so that we would be allowed in?

Not I but God!

Won"t you accept what God is offering to you,
then when we all are called home to Heaven Guess who will be waiting with open arms to welcome you.

Not I but God!
