Only One Time
By Barbara Philbrook

I shall pass through this world only one time,
so Lord I pray the road I choose to walk is thine.

I pray that each soul I meet today,
be enriched  in some small way.

I pray that my eyes see what you intend they behold,
and that I follow your guidance even as I grow old.

I pray my ears hear only what you would choose for me,
and that through them I may better know thee.

I pray the words I allow myself to say,
are the words given to me by you this day.

May all of my actions and reactions be just right,
causing others to know you guide me day and night.

Only one time will I inhabit this earth,
Father may you consider it a life of worth.
